Why is water leaking from my showerhead?Updated 2 months ago
A little leaking right after install is almost always the thread seal, and it's an easy fix.
- Turn off the water and unthread the showerhead from the shower arm.
- Wrap plumber's tape around the threads of the shower arm — clockwise, 4 to 6 times, pulled snug so it sits flat in the grooves.
- Thread the showerhead back on and hand-tighten. If you use the wrench, go gently — overtightening can distort the seal and actually make leaks worse.
- Turn the water back on and check.
Nine times out of ten, that solves it. Also make sure the rubber washer inside the connection is seated flat and not pinched. If it's still leaking after re-taping, get in touch — we'll sort it out.
